Spinner Inc., owner of the Cartersville skating rink on West Avenue, went to court in August and came out with the largest civil jury award in Bartow County's history. Chuck Spinner and his wife, Sandy, own the corporation that owns the rink.

Three years ago, the Georgia Power Co. decided to erect a 500-kilowatt power line flanked by 125-foot-tall towers across Johnson Mountain, where Douglas W. and Joan C. Jones were building a rustic wilderness resort.
